WINTER LEADERSHIP RETREAT
One of the signature programs of the Krimson and Kreme Foundation is the annual Winter Leadership Retreat. At the retreat, adult mentors and first-year college students help young participants research and develop solutions to the challenges facing young men of color today. After working with the program’s mentors, students share their ideas at the Spring Youth Led Conference Presentations at the end of the retreat.
The Winter Leadership Retreat is a transformative experience for all who attend. High school participants bolster their research skills and gain self-awareness and confidence in public speaking, while the college students willingly return to the program to serve as role models and peer-to-peer mentors to the younger participants.

BLACK EXPO COLLEGE TOUR
Each year, the Krimson and Kreme Foundation takes a group of students to the Black Expo College Tour in Los Angeles. During the event, students are able to meet and interview with representatives from over 50 Historically Black Colleges and Universities, as well as admissions officers from other institutions, to learn more about each school.
The annual event not only opens students’ eyes to the diversity of colleges and universities across the country, but it has also served as an inspiration to struggling students who may have thought higher learning was impossible for them due to their academic performance.

SUMMER YOUTH FISHING TRIP
Each year the Krimson and Kreme Foundation, along with its generous partners, sponsor a fishing trip for young people from the inner-city. For many attendees, it is their first time experiencing the sport and the breathtaking coastal California locales.
In 2018, the Krimson and Kreme Foundation took students who ranged from 6th to 12th grade, to the Channel Islands, which is an archipelago of eight islands located off the coast of Santa Barbara. While sports fishing can be prohibitively costly for many, students were able to attend the trip at a minimal cost.

SPRING YOUTH LED CONFERENCE
Students who attend the Krimson and Kreme Foundation’s Winter Leadership Retreat research topics relating to the solving some of the challenges young men of color face. They present their findings at the annual Spring Youth Led Conference.
The one-day conference is led by the high school students, and attended by middle school students. Organized by the high schoolers, students offer presentations on subjects like peer pressure, drug use, and sex education. The purpose of the Spring Youth Led Conference is to prepare middle school boys for the rigors of high school by providing them with first hand perspectives and guidance directly from current high school leaders.
